Sitting is the Enemy of Rotation.

Eight hours a day in a chair creates a specific postural adaptation known as Upper Crossed Syndrome:

  • Short, tight chest muscles.
  • Weak, lengthened upper back muscles.
  • Shortened hip flexors (psoas).
  • Gluteal amnesia (your glutes literally forget how to fire).

You cannot step onto the first tee and expect your body to instantly reverse 40 hours of sitting. Your swing will be a series of compensations.

The 5-Minute Pre-Round Desk Detox

Do these three movements before you grab a club:

  1. Couch Stretch (2 mins): Opens the violently tight hip flexors.
  2. Open Books (2 mins): Awakens the thoracic spine.
  3. Glute Bridges (1 min): Reminds your brain that you have glutes to power the downswing.
